Consumer Litigation Law Firm, Johnson Law Group , has appointed associate solicitor Sadaf Khan to its Manchester-based litigation team.

A qualified solicitor with more than 14 years’ experience in the legal sector, Sadaf comes to Johnson Law Group from FDM Solicitors, with a strong background in different types of civil litigation, commercial litigation, and dispute resolution.

Multi-lingual, speaking English, Dutch, Urdu and Hindi, Sadaf was shortlisted as a finalist in the Disputes Lawyer of the Year Award 2023 by the Women and Diversity awards committee.

Helen Hall

Insurance broking and risk management firm Gallagher has expanded its Liverpool team as it continues to grow and strengthen its service to clients in the city.

The business has welcomed six new recruits to its team with a wealth of experience in supporting organisations in the region with their risk management and insurance needs.

Gallagher’s Liverpool office, based in Spinnaker House, Sefton Street, employs more than 60 risk management and insurance specialists. The firm has been based in the city for more than 20 years and these new appointments mark Gallagher bolstering its existing expertise.

This latest expansion builds on Gallagher’s presence in the North West with additional offices in Chester, Sale, Manchester and Lytham St Annes.

Callum Goulding is joining as a business development executive having worked in the insurance industry for more than 15 years, most recently specialising in medical malpractice insurance. In his new role Callum will be supported by new account Broker, Jessica Smith, who brings 10 years’ experience gained both locally and internationally

The appointment of Gill Birchall as account broker will see Gallagher strengthening its marine expertise and expand its client offering. Gill has worked in the marine industry for more than 30 years specialising in shipping and insurance claims management.

Three new account brokers have been hired to look after Gallagher’s growing corporate client base in Merseyside. Helen Hall brings with her 27 years’ experience having delivered insurance services to businesses and high net worth individuals. Martin Rimmer brings more than 20 years’ experience and Ben Thomas joins with a background of developing insurance solutions for SMEs as well as product development.

Scott Watson

Altrincham-based independent law firm, Myerson Solicitors, has appointed Scott Watson, previously of Knights Legal Network, to join its business development team, helping to further develop Myerson Connections, a referral scheme for law firms, solicitors and those operating in the legal sector.

Scott joins Chris Wilson, head of business development, who, over the past few years, has built Myerson Connections to be a successful referral scheme for law firms.

Chris Wilson welcomed Scott, saying : “The expertise and experience he brings from Knights Legal Network is invaluable and it’ll enable us to provide an even better service to our Myerson Connections members as well as quickly onboard many more law firms.

Sinead Cartwright

National law firm Simpson Millar has welcomed partner and military claims specialist, Sinead Cartwright, to its national Injury Practice Area.

A former director at Hilary Meredith, Sinead will be based out of the Manchester office and brings significant experience of dealing with highly complex military claims to the role, including cases involving traumatic brain injury, military clinical negligence, non-freezing cold injury claims and noise induced hearing loss claims.

In addition, Sinead brings a breadth of technical knowledge to her role as partner within Simpson Millar’s military team, having dealt with a number of high profile cases in previous roles, including acting for victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

She has been welcomed by Simpson Millar’s Injury Practice Area director, Helen Melling, who said: “Sinead is a highly regarded, passionate military claims expert who brings with her many years’ experience representing Armed Forces personnel in what are often complex and technical cases. Katie Dean

The Liverpool-based Women’s Organisation, a developer and deliverer of training and support for women in the UK, has a new director of business development and strategy.

Katie Dean, an economist by training, has experience in business and strategy development, with a career spanning corporate banking, international consultancy, and local government before joining the Women’s Organisation.

Liverpudlian Katie worked at national level with a global economic development consultancy firm. After stints in London and Manchester, Katie returned to Liverpool in 2019 and joined the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead economist.

In her new role, Katie will be deploying a robust evidence base to ensure that national and local policy and investment initiatives are effectively structured to encourage and enable SMEs to start and grow and deliver increased levels of social and economic prosperity.

Pozzoni Architecture has strengthened its team with five senior promotions across the business.

Ian Mellor is promoted to associate director and continues to lead the Brighton studio which opened in 2022. Alice Parker, Eleanor McCallum, Emma Tanti and David Spoors are all promoted to senior associate in the Altrincham studio.

Working across the education, housing, later living and leisure sectors respectively, their new roles will incorporate day-to-day management of the business to support the director team.
