Bentley drives into Kazakhstan

NORTH West luxury car maker Bentley is continuing its drive into new locations with the launch of a dealership in Kazakhstan.

The new showroom will be in the oil-rich country’s capital, Almaty, and will open in the middle of this year.

Crewe-based Bentley said the investment was in response for growing demand for its cars around the world.

The Almaty dealership is a partnership with Kazakhstan company Premier Metro Group, a specialist in high-end goods. Premier’s other business interests include distribution and retail of luxury goods such as watches, jewellery, mobile phones as well as fine wines.

Michael Mayer, Bentley Motors’ Regional Director for Europe and the UK, said
“Since the launch of the Bentley Continental family we have welcomed a new breed of entrepreneurs to the brand, especially in fast-developing economies such as Kazakhstan.

“We look forward to working with Premier, whose understanding of the luxury market in Kazakhstan makes them the ideal partners for us in this exciting country.”

Bentley cars are already exported to 50 countries. As demand has stalled in traditional markets because of the recession, Bentley has focused on growing sales in the East, with Russia and China key new territories.
