New MD unveiled for Manchester Metrolink system

Damien Chabas has been appointed new managing director of the Manchester Metrolink system.

The operator, KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM), confirmed he took up his role this week, on August 1.

Damien has been the service delivery director for KAM since January 2022, and prior to this role the company’s director of customer experience, growth and innovation and head of network design and development.

He joined the KAM team in 2018 and has played a significant role in the continuous improvement of its customer service delivery, as well as providing his experience and support to enhance the network’s operational performance and safety.

He has championed the importance of effective leadership and employee engagement as essential ingredients for success.

Before joining KAM, Damien spent eight years working for Yarra Trams (KeolisDowner) in Melbourne, Australia, across senior positions in business strategy and customer services.

Damien holds Masters degrees in international business and business management.
