Music Magpie expands kiosk network for phone recycling

Stockport-based technology reseller Music Magpie is expanding its SMARTDrop Kiosk network, starting with three new sites in the Manchester Arndale shopping centre (Manchester), Cribbs Causeway (Bristol) and Willow Brook (Bristol).
The expansion follows an initial rollout of 290 SMARTDrop Kiosks into Asda stores across the UK in October 2022, and these latest shopping centre kiosks, along with The Trafford Centre (Manchester) kiosk which opened earlier this year, add to its range of customers, which has been a success.
Customers take their phone to a kiosk, receive a valuation, deposit it and then have the money paid to their bank or PayPal account.
Since their launch in November 2020 SMARTDrop Kiosks now account for 45% of Music Magpie’s Consumer Technology sourcing in the UK.
The company is looking to expand the reach of its SMARTDrop Kiosks by placing them in new high footfall sites across the country, making selling and recycling mobile devices even more convenient and accessible for consumers.
Steve Oliver, chief executive and co-founder of Music Magpie, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that our SMARTDrop Kiosks will be arriving at three new major locations this week, following the successful rollout in Asda stores across the country. Our SMARTDrop Kiosk in The Trafford Centre has been one of our most successful installations to-date, and with millions of people visiting each of these new sites every year these will serve to increase brand awareness and promote the service making it easier than ever for customers to trade in their phone for cash, while doing something positive for the environment.”
