CNP Professional to manufacture in Hyde

A DENTON-based sports nutrition company in Denton has set up its own manufacturing facility in Hyde.

CNP Professional, which employs 16 staff, currently sells and distributes bought-in sports nutritional products under its own label brand.

The company plans to set up a manufacturing facility so it can take-over the production of its own label products, with production starting in April.

It also plans to introduce a new ready-to-drink supplement range.

Paul Vandrill, finance director, said: “CNP is a small, but growing business which has ambitious, yet realistic growth plans.  Key to the successful achievement of these is to create our own, food grade standard manufacturing facility.

“Working with specialist advisors to the food industry, Integrated Food Projects, we were able to source an ideal site in Hyde, and specify the fit out and equipment needed to achieve the standard required.”

He added: “CNP is proud of its Manchester roots and was delighted to remain in the area, with the benefit of local jobs, local suppliers and a big reduction in imports to the UK.”

The company got the funding for the expansion through NatWest and Lombard.

It has been given close to £127,000 by the Northwest Regional Development Agency under the Grant for Business Investment scheme to support its expansion.
