Apartments scheme to rescue of derelict former fire station site

Blueoak's West Kirby scheme

Chester-based developer, Blueoak Estates, is transforming a derelict fire station into a new 32-apartment residential scheme.

The West Kirby scheme will get under way this month to create 32 one-, two- and three-bed apartments, utilising the long redundant site to create much needed quality homes to suit a broad local demographic.

The site had become a focus of anti-social behaviour in recent years, but the development will see the land repurposed and reimagined to create contemporary apartment living.

Iain MacLean, Blueoak Estates managing director, said: “We’re so pleased to see work begin on this fantastic site.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard fine tuning and refining our designs to create a viable development that meets the diverse needs of all stakeholders.

“There is a massive housing shortage across Wirral and many are being forced to move out of home towns like West Kirby. Schemes such as this present a great opportunity for a diverse range of residents to own their dream home within their dream address.”

He added: “The scheme ticks many boxes for an incredibly broad audience. It is set in a brilliant location, within vibrant West Kirby, with ample parking and strong transport links.

“Each unit has outdoor private space, lift access and is within walking distance to all amenities.

“We anticipate strong levels of interest from the outset and welcome all enquiries.”
