Minibus manufacturer faces administration

A West Yorkshire company which manufactures minibuses has applied to appoint administrators.

Treka Bus, based in Brighouse, is a trading division of Bolton-based vehicle technology business WNV Tech.

In its annual report for the year ended 31 December 2022, Treka Bus reported a turnover of £11.7m (2021: £23.8m) and pre-tax profits of £717,722 (2021: £2.2m). During 2022 the firm employed an average of 69 staff.

According to the annual report, the fall in sales was due to a site closure caused by a shortage of critical components.

However, Treka Bus’s directors at the time noted that the company was still in a strong financial position, adding that they expected normal trading conditions to return in 2023.

The company operates from a 14,000 sq ft production facility at Armytage Road Industrial Estate, with its operations ranging from welding, to fibreglass finishing and electrical engineering.

The manufacturer supplies vehicles to a range of customers in the private, public and charitable sectors.
