Deal for last office space at MIOC takes occupancy to 100%

Manchester International Office Centre

A key office building in South Manchester, next to Manchester Airport, has begun 2024 with 100% occupancy for all its available space after Manchester International Office Centre (MIOC) saw its remaining office taken in the final week of 2023.

Liam MacCarthy, director at Till AM, investment manager of Manchester International Office Centre, said: “What a great way to begin the year.

“We, like many over the last few years, suffered with businesses disappearing or completely reviewing their office requirements due to home working. We very quickly recognised that the office was probably changed forever and provided support and adaptable solutions for our tenants.

“Our investment in refurbishing the suites and building, plus adding new facilities, clearly illustrates what many businesses are looking for. The results of this is reflected in the success of the available space in MIOC’s 100,000 sq ft building being at 100% occupancy.”

The last few businesses to join are from a mixture of sectors including freight experts, Yes to Ship, building consultancy August Consulting Group, Beesley Corporate Recovery, and the recent recipient of funding from three Dragons on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, Full Power Cacao.

Liam Browne, founder of Full Power Cacao, said: “We loved the vibe at MIOC. The open green space, spacious office and communal areas, great facilities and business community are all things we feel will help us continue to drive our business forward.

“Our cacao products have the ability to reduce stress and help people connect spiritually to their inner selves. The relationship between cacao and an individual’s Chakra system is truly magical, and we know our products can help re-centre and create stronger people who are more harmonious in the current busy world we live in.

“What could be more important when growing businesses and developing employees?”

Dominic Pozzoni, head of the Manchester office at Colliers, said: “I think the figures speak for themselves in regard to the success of this building.

“Till AM has concentrated on what businesses need, providing great office space that is centered on added value for employers to get their teams in the office and be as productive as possible.

“This iconic building has all the typical amenities of the new-build developments in Manchester city centre and is laser-focused on creating a business community with regular events and space for companies to thrive.”

The building is situated at a prominent position at the junction of Styal Road on the A555 with easy connections to Manchester Airport, the M56, Metrolink and Heald Green train station.

It was designed by Cruickshank and Seaward in 1953 and offers a level communal space that is rarely seen in many other buildings. Alongside excellent facilities, MIOC has an active business community, multiple EV charging spaces, social events throughout the year, gym, café and large communal garden for all occupiers.
