Marriott brand set to open in heart of city this spring following £33m refurbishment

Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly is set to launch this spring.
Situated next to Piccadilly train station and in the urban neighbourhood, Mayfield, it will fly the signature flag of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands.
In late 2021, the hotel was acquired by Zetland Capital Partners under a management agreement with Hamilton Pyramid, leading to a significant £33m refurbishment and rebranding project.
Debuting as the city’s flagship Marriott hotel, Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly will be the brand’s second property in the city.
The new 338-room eight-storey hotel offers a contemporary destination for travellers, featuring a restaurant and bar, a function room, 11 meeting rooms, a 24/7 MClub Lounge, state-of-the-art gym and an Elemis spa, featuring six treatment rooms and a thermal suite.
The hotel says it boasts the city’s largest standard rooms, offering triple-glazing.
The property also offers 16 Panoramic Suites, with expansive views over Manchester’s skyline. The two Executive Suites are the largest accommodation choice, with an impressive living area.
General manager, Stephen Rycroft, said: “We are excited to be part of this important renovation in the city, leading the way to bring the flagship Marriott brand to this grand hotel – grand in both innovative design and size, making it the largest hotel in Manchester city centre once complete.
“With a planned launch for spring, we are really looking forward to sharing our elevated hospitality with experiences that are sure to captivate both business and leisure guests alike.”
