Shimla Pinks firm in administration

THE parent company of the Shimla Pinks Indian restaurant in Manchester has been placed into administration.
The popular eatery on Dolefield, Crown Square is still trading while the administrator Gerald Irwin of Birmingham-based insolvency firm Irwin and Co “explores the options” for the business.
Mr Irwin blamed delays in moving to a new location within the nearby Spinningfields development had caused the insolvency.
He explained: “There are a number of companies trading under the Shimla Pinks brand – this case relates only to Shimla Pinks (Spinningfields).
“The company planned to move to a new site on the nearby development but regrettably this has taken longer and cost more money than the directors had anticipated.
“The business is still open and trading and we are exploring the possible options.”
Mr Irwin said there had been expressions of interest, but it was “still early days” in the process.
According to Companies House Two of the three directors of Shimla Pinks (Spinningfields) are listed as directors of Shimla Pinks (Leftbank) Ltd, which was incorporated last June and has its registered office at Dolefield, Crown Square, Manchester.
