Manchester Legal Awards announces charity partnership with We Love MCR
The only charity dedicated to supporting the City of Manchester’s communities and young people has been chosen as the charity partner for this year’s Manchester Legal Awards.
Taking place on Thursday 6th June, the Manchester Legal Awards are designed to honour successful individuals, celebrate amazing work, and stimulate even more brilliance across the legal industry in our city.
This year, the Manchester Law Society, which organises the awards, has teamed up with We Love MCR.
Founded in 1997, We Love MCR provides heart, hope and opportunity to the people of Manchester, when they need it most.
The local charity supports ambitious, disadvantaged young Mancunians through their Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund (MRSF).
Within the legal realm, the charity allocates MRSF funds to talented young individuals who are aiming to forge a career in law, but face barriers to entry.
Fran Eccles-Bech, chief executive of Manchester Law Society, said: “We all know Manchester is bursting with talent, especially among our young folks. We Love MCR’s mission to give hope and chances to our city’s youth really hits home for us. Every year, the legal crowd in Manchester comes together to support great causes, and I’m sure this awards night will be no different.
“As a powerful legal community, we want to give something back to our city and help We Love MCR make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we’re writing the next chapter for Manchester, empowering our communities and giving young Mancunians a leg up when they need it.

The Manchester Legal Awards process culminates in a black-tie ceremony at The Midland Hotel on Thursday, 6th June with last year’s event attracting more than 700 attendees.
All proceeds on the awards night will go towards supporting We Love MCR Charity.
