A Manchester cybersecurity business has relocated it HQ to Department Bonded Warehouse flexible workspace at Enterprise City, following a further £4.4m investment from Mercia Asset Management in October last year.

Netacea, which protects against bot attacks that target mobile, web and API applications, said the new workspace offers its 75 staff improved amenities, including multiple meeting and breakout spaces, to accommodate the business’s flexible approach to working.

The move to Department Bonded Warehouse also introduces the business and its staff to the vibrant community of tech, media and creative businesses already based at the flexible workspace operator, including Delivery App, Dentsu, Housr and Exchange, the tech scale-up accelerator.

Anthony Powell, managing director at Department, said: “Growing tech businesses need workspaces that support their specific needs – that’s exactly what we provide at Department. Equally, our first class amenities support members’ work-life balance including Condition gym, Department Coffee and Project Halcyon cocktail bar to enhance the social and wellness aspects of the workplace.

“By connecting a group of like minded businesses and employees we have created a community of ambitious individuals that excel in their work and individual industries.”

Mick Bradley, CEO of Netacea, said: “The move to Department places us at the heart of the city’s tech sector and will help us through our next stage of growth.

“We spend a large part of our day working and doing it comfortably in an environment that allows us to produce our best work makes it all the more enjoyable.

“We wanted a space that was flexible to the different types of tasks our teams undertake and Department’s adaptable spaces appealed to us and our aspirations for the business. Being part of the broader Enterprise City district at St. John’s is also an exciting prospect.”

Level, the workspace advice specialist, secured the deal as part of its work to match tenants with their ideal workspace.

Joe Averill, founder of Level, said: “Connecting businesses with the best workspace for them and their needs is very fulfilling.

“Introducing Netacea to Department Bonded Warehouse will place them in the best environment for growth following their latest funding round. Their new space and the amenities on hand align with their hiring plans and ambitions for growth over the coming years. I’m excited to see them flourish following the move.”

Department Bonded Warehouse has been repurposed from an 1800s Grade II-listed warehouse to a destination for modern lifestyles and forward thinking businesses – all powered by 100% green renewable energy.
