One-stop retailer B&M takes over Wilko’s former Manchester Arndale unit

Manchester Arndale has agreed a letting with Liverpool-based discount retailer, B&M, for a 30,000 sq ft unit.

B&M’s store, due to open later this year, will be located in the former Wilko unit.

The retailer caters to budget-conscious shoppers seeking value for money and will offer a comprehensive product range including home goods, groceries, electronics, alongside an array of seasonal items, providing a one-stop shopping destination.

The arrival of B&M follows a surge of leasing activity at Manchester Arndale over the past few months, including retail lettings to Space NK, Dune, Moss, The North Face, and Sunglass Hut.

With Black Sheep Coffee, Krispy Kreme, and Lazy Sundae also amongst recent additions, Manchester Arndale said it continues to attract a varied array of enticing options, solidifying its status as a dynamic and vibrant retail and leisure destination.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said: “We place great importance in having a truly mixed offer and its fantastic to be able to bring in a retailer that offers a wide array of products at accessible prices.

“From high end fashion brands to discount retailers, its clear operators across the board have long term confidence in the centre as Manchester Arndale continues to cement its reputation as the North West’s leading retail destination with a varied line up of exciting retail, F&B (food and beverage) and leisure.”

M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green & Partners retained lease advisory agents.
