Energetix wins South African order for Pnu Power

ENERGETIX Group, the Chester-based supplier of energy-efficient products, has received an order from South African telecoms battery firm Aztec Electronics.

Aztec Electronics, which supplies batteries to the telecoms and military sectors for back-up and UPS solutions, has ordered one of Energetix’s 4kW Pnu Power systems that powers batteries from compressed air.

Adrian Hutchings, chief executive Officer of Energetix Group, said: “Aztec positions itself as one of Africa’s leading suppliers of standby power systems to the South African and broader African telecoms industries whose customers include Vodafone, MTN, Cell C, Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Alcatel and others.

“Aztec believes there is tremendous potential for Pnu Power systems in South Africa and we are delighted to be working with Aztec to develop the South African opportunity.”

To date, the Pnu Power product range has been sold to the telecommunications and grid switching markets with systems in the 2 to 300kW range.

Energetix also produces Genlec, a micro combined heat and power boiler for the domestic market under the Kingston brand.
