Residential developer Xpercity has completed the multimillion-pound acquisition of Lambert House in Cheadle.

The site will be repurposed to create 106 high quality residential units, benefiting from excellent transport connections and local amenities.

The new development, which will be known as Weavers Yard, will be designed by Damion Marcus Burrows Architects of London, and plans include a strong element of social purpose, a core feature at the heart of the Xpercity values.

Manchester-based Xpercity believes its projects should have positive social impact and improve the overall living experience, something that has been brought to the fore with this development, it said.

The business is committed to creating a network of communities which will improve the lives of people who live there.

Mike Lomas, founder and CEO of Xpercity, said: “This is a project we’re really excited by. We’ve worked with some of the best names in the industry to bring together a development that will provide much needed residential accommodation to this part of the city, whilst delivering something new, fresh and always of the highest quality.

“Since officially launching Xpercity, we have pushed on in terms of the level of deals we are doing.

“Our end-to-end offer means we’re motivated and able to act quickly to secure sites with high potential, and start creating better living environments quickly. Our ambitions are always underpinned by creating a strong sense of social good for the communities we work in, and Weavers Yard is no exception.”

Weavers Yard will benefit from bold architectural features, revolutionising the look and feel away from the original purpose of the building.

Xpercity is part of the BR2.0 Group of companies, which earlier this year announced a ‘significant war chest’ to purchase and develop out residential sites across the North and Midlands.

Alongside other group companies, Big Red Construction and Inspired, the BR2.0 Group offers end-to-end service within the property sector, from site identification and planning, through construction and into ongoing maintenance.
