Work to start immediately on 124-home phase of major housing development

Eastbrook Village

Planning permission has been granted for 124 new homes to be delivered at Eastbrook Village in Maghull.

Housebuilding partners Vistry Group and Persimmon are co-developing the site, which has outline planning permission for 841 homes in total.

The latest planning approval means that Vistry Group can build the next 124 homes while works for a new spine road serving the site continue.

More than half of the spine road is already complete, including a new roundabout on Poverty Lane and a crossing over Whinny Brook, while 4.8ha of public open space has also been delivered, including a linear park.

Work on the latest phase of new homes is set to commence immediately and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

Gemma Hardy, Managing Director of Vistry Merseyside & Cheshire West, said: “We’ve worked closely with Sefton Council and other stakeholders to bring forward this latest planning application and its approval allows us to continue to develop out the site at speed, with the next 124 homes being built in conjunction with the completion of the new spine road.

“This will enable us to start knitting our new neighbourhood into the existing community, including access to the newly formed Whinny Brook public open space, and is great news for existing residents and the local community.”
