A London-based pensions company has opened a Manchester office as part of a wider expansion.

Aptia, which was founded just over a year ago, is a global pensions and employee benefits administration business.

It has expanded in Europe with the opening of three new office spaces and a further expansion at its London head office.

In Edinburgh, Aptia has moved into South Gyle Business Park, and in Manchester it has moved into the iconic Freetrade building.

Alongside these moves, the business is also moving to new premises next to the Tagus River in Lisbon to an area known as Parque das Nações, as well as taking another floor at Tower 42 in the City of London.

The firm, which says in the UKit  remains the largest private pensions administrator, continues to grow exponentially since it branched away from Mercer with backing from Bain Capital, and alongside its European office-space, is looking to grow in the US and India this year, too.

Bala Viswanathan, founder and CEO, said: “We continue to hit targets, win business and solidify ourselves as a new force in pensions and benefits administration – and the growth of our physical presence underlines this.

“Our Lisbon operation is exciting, growing at great speed and in the UK we continue to invest in our regional hubs, alongside our London offices.”

He added: “It has been a great first year, and thanks to the hard work of everyone, there is lots more to come in the near future.”
