Northern Reach secures Chorley contract to build tech community

Innovation agency Northern Reach has been contracted to work with Chorley Council to deliver Tech Community Building services at the Strawberry Fields Digital Hub in Chorley.
Northern Reach has appointed Helen Crowther into the role of Community Coordinator to lead the project which is designed to build tech and enterprise skills in the borough of Chorley.
Dan Knowles, Northern Reach founder said: “I couldn’t be more excited. Helen has had an incredible career as a librarian, and has a passion for Digital Literacy, which will become a focus as she starts her Masters with LIS: The London Interdisciplinary School. Having come through the CODE Lancashire skills bootcamp Helen is at home talking Tech.”
“I’d like to say a huge thanks to Phil Owen who has brought us on board and we can’t wait to support the Choose Chorley for Business programme.”
Stuart Lee is joining to do a similar roe in South Ribble, which is going to be home to the National Cyber Force at Salmesbury.
Lancaster-based Northern Reach describes itself as being on a mission to be the first place that tech and innovation focussed founders in Lancashire and Cumbria come to for growth support, and tries to work closely with public sector partners and funders to source support.
It delivers the Lancashire Digital Hub for the County Council, funded by the Barclays Eagle Labs, as well as projects for the District Councils in Lancaster, Burnley and now Chorley and South Ribble.
