Eat My Logo hungry for expansion following takeover deal for chocolate business

Eat My Logo, the Chorley-based bakery that supplies companies with bespoke branded treats, has added to its offer following the acquisition of a personalised chocolate business.

It has acquired Oxford-based www.cocoapod.co.uk following an asset purchase that includes Cocoapod’s production operations, trading channels, and intellectual property.

The production has since been relocated to a custom-built facility in Eat My Logo’s bakery.

The Cocoapod brand primarily focused on the consumer-personalised gift market.

Eat My Logo plans to expand the product range available through these channels.

Additionally, the Eat My Logo team is refining and enhancing the Cocoapod offerings, with the aim of introducing them to Eat My Logo customers by early 2025.

Andrew Poar, co-founder of Eat My Logo, said: “We are thrilled to incorporate the excellent Cocoapod brand into our business. This acquisition strengthens our chocolate offerings and provides our customers with more variety.

“We have ambitious plans for the brand in the coming months and into next year.”

Founded 10 years ago by husband and wife team, Andrew and Ruth Poar, Eat My Logo began as a side project to Ruth’s high street celebration cake business.

The company has since grown rapidly, now operating out of an 10,000 sq ft facility in Chorley with a team of 20 specialists.

Each week, Eat My Logo produces, packs, and ships tens of thousands of edible branded cakes, biscuits, and confectionery to hundreds of businesses across the UK, with orders ranging from a few units to hundreds of thousands.

The switch of Cocoapod production to Chorley has created two jobs, with more expected to follow.
