Environmental compliance firm hails 40% growth and plans to recruit in new NW base
An environmental compliance specialist, which recently relocated its HQ from Oxford to Manchester, has recorded an impressive 40% growth for the second year in a row, with plans to further expand its team.
Ecoveritas, now located in Manchester’s CORE building on Brown Street, provides expert data-driven packaging reporting services to industry and retail, including reporting for extended producer responsibility (EPR).
The firm has experienced significant growth, expanding from a small team at its original Oxford office to now nearly 50 staff, with plans for continued expansion over the coming months.
The official move to the North last month, coincided with the company’s milestone of signing 150 clients in more than 15 different sectors, working with brands like eBay, Selfridges, Claire’s, and Suzuki.
Of these clients, more than 70 have a combined excess turnover more than £50bn, and Ecoveritas receives in excess of 20,000 supplier data requests issued and processed each year.
Chief executive, Irvin Newbitt, said he was extremely proud of the talented team of individuals who have been instrumental in Ecoveritas’s growth, saying: “We have a vision of becoming the leading data specialist in helping companies minimise the cost and difficulty in reporting their packaging obligations.
“For this goal to be achieved we knew we needed to expand our data services and improve customer value through developing and investing heavily in technology solutions.
“Less than three years later, I’m proud to say that our vision is coming to fruition with technology being the cornerstone of this innovative company.”
Founded in 1999, the firm provides services including Plastic Tax reporting, Global EPR reviews and EPR – which recently made headlines due to the new regulation deadlines.
The new rules require UK businesses to collect and report data on the packaging they supply, import or import as packaging around products.
They must pay the appropriate fee for the quantity of packaging they place on the market to meet legal obligations and declare which country the packaging is supplied and discarded in.
To help businesses navigate the changes and avoid costly financial repercussions, the firm is supplementing its years of expertise with cutting edge technology to automate much of the recording and reporting process.
Mr Newbitt said: “We manage global EPR data reporting in more than 30 countries, so we are well equipped to handle reporting across diverse regulatory environments.
“While we’ve seen tremendous growth in the last few years, Ecoveritas has a three-and-a-half-decade legacy supporting its work and results.
“The firm’s proven success lies in its ability to navigate complex regulations while driving sustainable improvements for businesses worldwide.”
