Fuuse plugs in extra support to Electric Vehicle services
Lancaster-based Fuuse, a provider of electric vehicle charging software and services, has acquired the assets of Everyday EV, which include Driver Support and help on compliance for businesses providing a charging service.
Fuuse chief executive Michael Gibson said the acquisition is an opportunity to improve reliability across the public charging network and for those with business-critical charging needs.
“Fuuse works with hundreds of UK companies where charging is increasingly seen as business-critical infrastructure, such as commercial charging or where vehicles are key to operations, such as blue light services, delivery or field service and response,” Gibson said.
“The acquisition of Everyday EV strengthens our position to provide UK-based solutions to those investing in electric vehicles and who need the certainty and reliability of their charging infrastructure,” he added.
Head of Network Operations at Fuuse, Dan Lucy-Lloyd, said the acquisition will support Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and EV drivers as new Public Charge Point Regulations which came into law on 24 November 2024 which require anyone providing public charge points to offer a free-to-call 24/7 helpline.
“As a result, our investment in the people, expertise and tools will put us at the forefront of the industry, ensuring that CPOs meet their obligations and provide a fantastic experience to all of their drivers,” Lucy-Lloyd said.
Since it launched in June 2021, Fuuse has grown to employ 70 people and in June 2024 raised £8.7m in a funding round led by investor YFM Equity Partners, existing investors Par Equity and an angel syndicate.
Based in the White Cross business park it has 750 clients and over 70,000 active users and its customers include SSE, Scottish Power, United Utilities, Siemens, British Airways, Arnold Clark, and Be.EV.
