Juice and coffee bar brand returns to city centre with 10-year Arndale letting

Popular juice and coffee bar, Joe and The Juice, is returning to the centre of Manchester after agreeing to lease a new space at Manchester Arndale.

The business will occupy the 2,685 sq ft former EE unit on Cross Street after signing a 10-year lease.

The new letting at Manchester Arndale will see Joe and The Juice return to the city centre after its previous location in Debenhams closed following the collapse of the retailer.

Founded in 2002, the Danish-based business has established a chain of more than 300 juice bars and coffee shops across 64 locations around the world.

The cafes serve a mix of healthy juice drinks and coffees as well as a variety of sandwiches and snacks.

The arrival of the brand further strengthens Manchester Arndale’s café and restaurant line up following the recent arrivals of Michael’s Coffee House, HOP Vietnamese, Sides, Creams, Black Sheep Coffee, and Lazy Sundae.

Scott Linard, Portfolio Manager for Arndale joint asset manager, M and G Real Estate, said: “It is great to welcome Joe and The Juice back to Manchester city centre.

“They have built a brand which has become synonymous with meeting spots across UK towns and cities, so we expect them to thrive at Manchester Arndale thanks to our close proximity to city centre businesses and students keen to catch up over a bite to eat.”

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at fellow joint asset manager, Global Mutual, said: “Joe and The Juice selecting Manchester Arndale for its city centre return highlights the continued demand we are seeing from international F&B (food and beverage) and retail brands for space at the centre.

“Having a mix of established and growing brands helps to ensure Manchester Arndale continues to be an attractive destination for visitors and allows us to draw in shoppers from across the North West.”

M and G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale and New Cathedral Street while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green and Partners retained lease advisory agents.
