New city centre office unveiled by engineering services and nuclear firm

3 Piccadilly Place

AtkinsRéalis, the engineering services and nuclear company, has opened the doors to its new central Manchester offices at 3, Piccadilly Place.

The new premises reflects the firm’s growing presence in Greater Manchester and its continued commitment to key clients in and around the region, it said.

The new office will bring together around 1,000 employees working across a large number of sectors including transport, water, buildings and places, cyber security, nuclear and infrastructure.

The new offices have been fully refurbished with design led by AtkinsRéalis’s own specialists to create modern, flexible workspaces across three floors of Piccadilly Place.

It will also feature an immersive room, virtual reality area and zones for clients, teams and partners to visualise data, virtually access sites and collaborate online and in person.

Each floor of the new offices incorporates large, open spaces for client collaboration and team projects; solo spaces for focused work; and communal areas for social activities alongside breakout areas to recharge.

Piccadilly Place also meets AtkinsRéalis’s environmental criteria with Excellent BREEAM ratings, clean energy supply and green rooftop spaces.

Direct access to bus and tram routes, as well as Manchester Piccadilly Station, will encourage greater use of public transport in line with the company’s sustainability goals.

Colette Carroll, Managing Director for Transportation at AtkinsRéalis said: “The North West is forging ahead with forward-thinking plans for place-led growth, from transport networks to city-wide regeneration and environmental improvements, and the city is well recognised for its wealth of talent and growing digital sector.”

Ms Carroll, a member of the newly established Liverpool-Manchester Railway Board, added, “We’ve chosen Manchester as the location for our new North West Hub to support our continued growth in the region. It will enable AtkinsRéalis colleagues to connect with clients in and around the city that are driving this programme of sustainable development.”

The company, which employs more than 12,000 people across the UK, has had a presence in Manchester for more than 20 years and the new central location will be close to key clients, including Network Rail, Transport for Greater Manchester and Manchester Airport Group.

The new Hub brings together teams from Greater Manchester and Warrington, and further cements AtkinsRéalis’s strong presence in the North West, complementing existing offices and teams across the region, including in Liverpool and further north in Whitehaven.
