Deckers serves up £13m growth plan

A FAMILY-owned pub and restaurant business has growth on the menu after securing funding worth £13m.
Rochdale-based Deckers Restaurants was set up by the Brierley family in 1989 with a single site at Sale Water Park, and now operates two hotels and eight pubs and restaurants across then region with a £32m turnover.
The finance deal with Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets will help with the latest project, the renovation of the Rope and Anchor gastro-pub in Dunham Massey, Cheshire, and also help the business to grow its wholesale drinks business.
Victoria Brierley, finance director at the Deckers Group, said: “As the economic conditions ease, we are seeing more and more opportunities for growing the business.
“As a result, never has it been so important as to have a banking relationship that is based on a good degree of trust and mutual understanding. We had that with Lloyds TSB from day one and certainly look forward to working with the bank for many more years to come.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors to the Rope & Anchor site very soon.”
The funding package was put together relationship manager James Barron at Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets in Manchester.
Mr Barron added: “The Deckers Group is an extremely well-run business with a solid management team and it’s great to see how they have bucked the trend in a tough market for this sector.
“This deal demonstrates that we’re keen to support strong businesses like Deckers which will continue to grow and succeed.”
