First Manchester skyscraper for Legacie with Embankment Exchange completion

Liverpool developer, Legacie, has completed its £85m Embankment Exchange residential scheme in Salford.
The 301-apartment development is the firm’s first technical skyscraper, in Greengate.
It comprises two striking towers – Irwell Tower at 35 storeys, and Greengate Tower at 15 storeys, both connected by a concierge foyer, and a two-storey basement residents’ car park and cycle store.
Embankment Exchange delivers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments all designed for modern living, with high quality residential amenity, including a modern spa with indoor pool, a resident lounge with riverside views, work from home booths, a fully equipped gym and 24/7 concierge.
Externally, there is a large, green landscaped communal courtyard in the heart of the development for residents. There is also a riverside walkway, set to open on completion of neighbouring developments.
Greengate is a vibrant neighbourhood, steeped in industrial heritage, next to Manchester’s central shopping district, cultural landmarks, and key local institutions such as Blueprint studios and The Eagle Inn.
Designed by Liverpool-based Falconer Chester Hall, whose architectural vision balances Greengate’s industrial character with contemporary design while integrating modern residential amenities and high quality finishes, ensuring a striking addition to the Salford skyline.
Embankment Exchange is Legacie’s second major development in Manchester, following the recent completion of Merchants Wharf in Salford.
With further projects in the pipeline, the developer continues to expand its footprint in the region.
Mike Rider, construction director at Legacie, said: “The completion of Embankment Exchange is a significant milestone for Legacie, marking our first technical skyscraper.
“This development reinforces our investment in Salford’s thriving residential market, delivering high quality homes with exceptional amenities. We are proud to contribute to the regeneration of Greengate.”
Mike Gore, director at Falconer Chester Hall, said: “From the outset, our aim was to create a striking and elegant architectural statement that takes full advantage of the riverside setting and spectacular views across the Irwell.
“Working closely with Legacie, we’ve delivered a high quality façade using carefully selected materials that enhance the building’s contemporary aesthetic.”
He added: “It’s fantastic to see this scheme come to completion after years of hard work, providing generous, high specification homes that complement the character of Greengate and contribute to the area’s ongoing transformation.”
All apartments have been fully sold through Legacie’s exclusive sales partner, RWinvest. The development will be managed by Legacie’s in-house management team, which is now welcoming residents into their new homes.
