Science in Sport forges partnerships with five British sporting governing bodies

Performance nutrition brand, Science in Sport (SiS), has announced new partnerships with five British sporting governing bodies.

The company has a major supply chain site in Blackburn and last week agreed an £82.3m takeover by London-based bd-capital Partners.

It is the ‘Official Nutrition Partner’ to British Cycling, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, England Netball and Great British Wheelchair Rugby and its science-backed products will help to fuel British athletes to fulfil their potential and achieve success.

With each deal running through to, or beyond 2028, Science in Sport will be assisting the organisations as they prepare for a calendar of domestic and international events including World Championships, Paralympic and Olympic Games.

The two-way partnerships means SiS will support teams and athletes with world class nutritional solutions created to meet the requirements of each sporting discipline.

In addition to supporting elite athletes, SiS will deliver nutrition and education to the broader participation communities of these governing bodies to improve the understanding of sports nutrition, establishing best practice usage principles for all abilities.

SiS will continue to conduct pioneering scientific research to formulate world class, science-backed products for elite athletes.

Working with elite British athletes in various disciplines allows SiS to further evolve its knowledge of the nutritional needs of world-class performers.

This is a framework of best-in-class sports nutrition paired with elite usage and insights, that will set new standards for sports nutrition, globally.

The additional partnerships bolster an impressive UK portfolio which also includes British Rowing, England Athletics, Saracens Rugby, Tottenham Hotspur, Sir Chris Hoy and Eilish McColgan.

Dan Lampard, chief operating officer of Science in Sport, said: “It is a fantastic moment to become the Official Sports Nutrition Partner of five British governing bodies.

“Science in Sport brings decades of scientific research knowledge and a world class range of nutritional products which will support British teams and athletes as they perform and compete on the highest stages.

“In return, we will access valuable performance data and feedback from a field of world class athletes and teams that will help us to continue our research and development.

“It is our mission to improve the education, health and performance of all athletes, and these partnerships give us an incredible platform to continue innovating and leading the field.”

Performance director for the Great Britain Cycling Team, Stephen Park, said: “At GBCT we work hard to provide our riders with the best quality support for all their training and nutrition needs and SiS’s impressive range, performance knowledge and commitment to providing clean and certified products made them the clear choice to support our 140-strong squad on the road to LA.

“We are well known for being world leaders in innovation and constantly looking for additional performance gains, so we are incredibly excited to have found in SiS a like-minded collaborator who are keen to develop world leading nutrition solutions that will support our athletes with fuelling and recovery on their way to gold.”

Globally, SiS is an official supplier or partner to more than 330 professional sports teams, individuals and institutions.
