Flow of new orders leads to jobs at Mersey pipework firm

AT least 10 jobs are set to be created at Merseyside company Tulway Engineering after it was awarded a deal to supply the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, which is part of the Ministry of Defence.

The deal, to provide engineering support, comes on the back of an award to supply fire suppression pipework to the new aircraft carriers currently being built for the Ministry.

The Knowsley-based firm’s managing director, Kevin Tully, said: “Alongside our project and maintenance provision for many local companies, we hope to go on creating more local jobs.

“There is an excellent skill-base in the north west with this area providing skilled engineers to construct oil refineries, nuclear submarines and power stations. We are tapping into that expertise going forward.”

Tulway Engineering was set up in 1998 and currently employs 14 people.
