NetJets sees private business demand fly

PRIVATE jet firm NetJets Europe has seen the number of customers flying from the North West into Europe increase 60% in the last year, according to the company.
This boon in activity since January 2009 meant NetJets Europe operated around 800 flights in to and out of the region last year.
The company flies to four main airports in the region; Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool and Woodford. The busiest of these is Manchester, which took over 70% of NetJets Europe’s flights to the region in 2009.
The firm added that in January 2010 alone, demand from its Manchester airport hub increase 100% on January 2009, and it said Manchester airport is now its most popular hub outside London.
The most popular destinations from Manchester airport include London, Nice, Sion, Rotterdam and Paris.
The firm said the rise in private business travel out of the region to Europe was a sure sign it is pulling out of recession.
Emily Williams, vice president for NetJets Europe, said: “In today’s harsh economic times, businesses are working extremely hard to maintain customer relationships and push through deals across Europe.”
The NetJets Europe fractional ownership model means owners buy a share of an aircraft equal to the anticipated number of hours flying each year, starting from the equivalent of 25 hours flying time.
She added: “We are finding more and more businesses recognise the importance of doing business face to face and fractional ownership of a business aircraft allows people to do this effectively. Based on this ability to be in the right place at the right time, we are seeing significant up lift in demand for our service.”
