pro.manchester launches SME club

AN online advisory community for the region’s SMEs has been launched.
The brainchild of professional services organisation pro∙manchester, the SME Club – which is sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland – was launched by Sir Richard Lees, leader of Manchester city council.
The SME Club is a free model providing business information and advice to as wide a range of businesses as possible no matter what the stage, location or size.
Individuals who sign up will receive one thousand top tips each year and also a weekly copy of newsletter pro∙manchester Connects to help run their business.
Tips will be provided by experts from within pro∙manchester’s 300-strong membership.
John Ashcroft. chief executive of pro∙manchester said:” I am fortunate to have had lots of experience in business, some good and at times not so good.
“That is the nature of business, I don’t care what stage you are at in your business life you never stop learning and we can all use a useful reminder about key do’s and don’ts.
“It’s a little like flying across the Atlantic, it doesn’t matter how many times you have done it, you still need a checklist to ensure the cargo doors are shut and the landing gear is in the right position at the appropriate stage in the flight. pro∙manchester SME Club will provide “the checklists” to make sure there are no gaping holes in key business plans.”
Rob Pailin, regional director at RBS, which has committed £250,000 to the project, added: “RBS is pleased to become a sponsor of the SME Club which, under pro.manchester, brings together a wealth of knowledge and experience from it’s members with the aim to provide practical support and guidance to SME business within the Greater Manchester area and beyond.”
