Investment banker joins board of bid target AMS

AIM listed Advanced Medical Solutions, which last week rejected a bid approach from larger rival Consort Medical, has stengthened its board.

The Winsford-based group has appointed investment banker Penny Freer as senior independent non-executive director.

Ms Freer, 49, has worked in investment banking and investor relations for 25 years. From 2000 to 2004 she was head of equities in London for Robert W Baird, the US investment bank.

Before this she held senior positions at Credit Lyonnais, with responsibility for small and mid-cap equities activities, and at NatWest Markets.

AMS chairman Dr Geoffrey Vernon, said:”I am pleased to welcome Penny to AMS. Her considerable experience of the stock market and her strong City institutional relationships will be of great benefit as we continue to grow the company.”
