Oast House coming to Spinningfields

LIVING Ventures is to open a reclaimed Oast House in Manchester’s Spinningfields next month.
Entrepreneur Tim Bacon, managing director of Living Ventures Group, which has recently added The Alchemist and Australasia to its successful Gusto and Blackhouse brands, will open the pub under his New World Pub Company vehicle.
The Oast House – a place where they used to roast hops in the 16th Century – has been brought brick by brick, from Kent via Ireland, and reassembled at its new city centre address where it will open on the week of October 10.
The Knutsford company’s third Spinningfields venue will hopefully drive footfall to the area around The Avenue fashion zone behind the Armani flagship.
The pub will offer locally brewed cask ales, 40 bottled beers and ciders from around the world, along with champagnes, wines and spirits, while the deli style food menu includes meats cooked on the rotisserie and an external barbeque.
Mr Bacon said he was “incredibly excited” about the new project.
The group has also said it is exploring the option of opening a pub on the site of the Olive Press in Liverpool, which it acquired late last year.
