Property conference to generate £1m

THE British Council of Shopping Centres’ three-day annual conference got underway yesterday with organisers stating that it will generate around £1m for the city’s economy.

Around 2,500 delegates from the retail property sector are expected at the conference, which takes place at the Manchester Central convention complex for the third year in succession. Keynote speakers include former CBI director-general Richard Lambert.

Michael Green, Chief Executive of BCSC, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Manchester once again for this year’s Conference & Exhibition and it is fantastic to be supported by so many locals from both the public and private sectors.

“We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of the industry’s representatives to Manchester’s fantastic conference venue.”
