VPhase wins British Gas order

CHESHIRE-based energy saving products company VPhase has won an order to provide its voltage optimisation product to British Gas customers.

The order, between the company’s VPhase Smart Energy subsidiary and British Gas, is to provide 980 units of its VPhase voltage optimisation product.

The product allows households to save up to 12% a year on their electricity bills with no change in lifestyle.

Rick Smith, chief executive of VPhase, said: “This order is another step forward in the continued roll out of VPhase.  As energy prices continue to rise, VPhase is committed to promoting energy efficiency, and we are delighted to be a part of the British Gas initiatives in this space.”

Yesterday, the company announced that turnover rose to £201,000 in the six months to the end of June, from £121,000 last year.

However, it said that sales were “behind expectations”. This was because the creation of a number of “key customer agreements” took longer to achieve than anticipated, according to the group.

Losses before tax rose from £727,000 to just over £1m as VPhase strengthened its workforce and increased its marketing spend.
