Candis magazine moves subscription model to news stands

WIRRAL-based women’s magazine Candis is diversifying its distribution model from subscription only, to also being available on news stands.

The monthly glossy, which is the UK’s highest selling women’s subscription magazine, will be sold at retailers including WH Smith, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrison’s for the first time from the end of this month.

Published by Newhall Publications in Hoylake, A5-sized Candis currently has an ABC audited circulation of 236,075.

Bryan Douglas-Dala, managing director of Newhall Publications, publishers of Candis, said: “Candis is a brand that’s been round since the 1960s and we’ve always enjoyed an incredibly loyal reader community. We have a high-spending family orientated readership and our subscription-background gives us an in-depth knowledge of our readers and their lives.

“Now with national retail distribution, Candis is an even more attractive proposition for big-brand advertisers. We’re expecting a very positive response from the market as we offer an exciting and uniquely different route to the hearts and hands of everyday women in the UK today.”

The magazine will make its retail debut with a cover interview with Gwyneth Paltrow.
