App55 signs up outdoors etailer

APP55, the Salford Quays-based creator of mobile payment apps for smartphones, has won a deal to create a secure pay-by-password system for Loving Outdoors.

Manchester-based Loving Outdoors sells tents, camping gear, clothes and peripheries such as GPS kit. The system created by App55 will help customers to pay simply by using their own password either via the website or via a mobile app through App55’s cloud-based system, which is backed by Worldpay.

App55 CEO Richard Beaton said: “There’s no doubt online retailers constantly have to think of new and innovative ways to improve their customer experience. Offering an Amazon-like payment-by-password option will make it quicker and easier for Loving Outdoors customers to buy from their website”.
