Euro Garages to launch drive-through Starbucks

PETROL forecourt operator Euro Garages has struck a deal with Starbucks to open drive-through coffee stores, creating 600 jobs.
The licensing agreement will see up to 30 drive-through Starbucks stores rolled out across forecourts owned by the Blackburn-based company, following the success of a pilot store in Cardiff.
The first drive-through will open in Deeside today and sites in Shrewsbury and Runcorn will open in the next month.
Seven further sites will open in the next 12 months with the remainder opening by 2013.
Mohsin Issa, director of Euro Garages, said: “It’s essential for us to work with strong brands who share our commitment to innovation. Our partnership with Starbucks will complement the offer on our existing estate, as well as enable us to accelerate our growth with new stand alone drive-throughs across the UK.”
Darcy Willson-Rymer, managing director of Starbucks UK & Ireland, said: “We’ve had a great success with our first drive-through and Euro Garages’ commitment to customer service and innovation makes them the right partner for us.”
Euro Garages was formed in 2001 by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa with a single petrol station.
It has a network of 76 forecourts and is the UK’s second biggest independent forecourt operator. It sells around 300 million litres of fuel each year and is on course to turnover £275m this year.
