Property round-up: Charterfields launches property agency; SB Training takes Skelmersdale industrial space; and more

SURVEYOR Charterfields has taken on David Fowlds to launch a property agency in Manchester.

Fowlds, previously a director at Colliers International, has joined to establish a property team which will deal with all aspects of commercial property including acquisition and disposal services and consultancy advice on matters such as valuation, rent reviews, lease renewals and rating.
 
Fowlds has over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of commercial property,   particularly large industrial ‘sheds’ and the office and retail sectors.  He has advised a diverse range of clients including Arriva, Booker, British Land, Marshalls plc and Nationwide Building Society and regularly acts as expert witness in disputes.
 
Meanwhile Declan Kilbride, who specialises in valuations of plant, machinery and inventory, has joined from Edward Symmons. He has over 20 years’ experience in valuations during which time he has carried out projects in locations worldwide including Thailand, the Philippines and Uganda and acted as an expert witness in a landmark case on compensation values.
 
At Charterfields, he will work with director Ian Maycock providing valuation and disposal services for insolvency practitioners. However he will also be developing the firm’s operations amongst asset-based lenders and insurers, both markets in which he has considerable experience.
 
Graduate Matthew Corcoran has also been recruited as a plant and machinery surveyor. Matthew was previously at JPS Surveyors and has experience of valuations for insolvency and asset-based lending.

THE North West Industrial team at CBRE has let 27,000 sq ft of industrial space at Unit 7, Glebe Road in Skelmersdale on behalf of Quorum Estates.

Warehousing and construction training specialist SB Training has acquired the industrial unit on a six-year lease.

The facility will enable the business to amalgamate three existing depots under one roof, and provides further space for expansion.

Neil Beaumont, operations director at SB Training, said:  “The building fits in with our expansion strategy and is ideally located to allow the business to grow, whilst continuing to serve our local clients via larger facilities.”

Davies Harrison acted as joint agent alongside CBRE.

EDWARD Symmons has been appointed to seek a purchaser for a self-contained office and retail premises situated in Court Yard Terrace, Wrexham.

The investment property comprises three units with retail at ground and offices at first floor, within a two storey traditional brick construction.

The property, in Chirk town centre, is adjacent to the town’s free public car park. Two of the three units are let at a current passing rent of £12,740 a year.
