JV offers brighter prospects for lighting firm

A WREXHAM-based lighting company has agreed a joint venture with a US business which it said could grow sales four-fold to £5m over the next two years.

Visive, which is an LED lighting specialist based at Wrexham Industrial Estate, has joined forces with Houston-based US LED to sell new ranges of US LED’s advanced solid state lighting systems in the UK and Europe.
The two firms co-develop new products and work together on joint development projects, particularly in the rail and retail sectors.

John Scholey, Visive’s sales development director, said:“The partnership is a logical step for both businesses and will broaden our footprint both domestically and internationally, thanks to an expanded product portfolio and new product development.

“We have been working with US LED for the last eight years, but have now formalised an agreement to market in the UK and Europe, and we are actively looking for agents and potential wholesalers in Europe to ensure we reach our full potential in new markets.”

Ron Farmer, US LED’s president said: “We are confident that this partnership will further strengthen our leadership in core business areas.”
