DWF deals hit £835m in North West

THE North West offices of law firm DWF have acted on deals worth £835m since the beginning of the year – making up 90% of all its deals by value.
The firm, which has offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and London, said the aggregated value of deals it has worked on across the company has hit £930m.
In the last quarter alone, the firm’s corporate team acted on deals worth more than £414m.
The Manchester team has advised on a number of deals, including the sale of The English Language Centre York to TUI Travel, and also First Milk’s whey protein venture with Fonterra.
The firm also ranked number one in the region by volume of deals for the third consecutive quarter, according to data company, Experian.
Frank Shephard, head of the DWF’s corporate team in Manchester, said: “It’s great to see continuing growth in the volume and quantity of our transactions for yet another quarter. We are working on some really exciting deals right across the region, focusing on firms with a reputation for organic growth and innovation.”
Earlier this year, DWF posted a 35% increase in net profit and a 15% rise in turnover to £83m for its year ending April 2011.
