Coatings firm has new look

A MERSEYSIDE-based engineering company has undergone a change of ownership following a management buy-out.

Hi-Tech Coatings of Rainford, near St Helens has been sold by retiring managing director John Cain for an undisclosed sum to general manager Phil Honnor.

The company was set up in 1992 and provides powder coating services to metal fabrication firms. It currently employs 20 staff and has a turnover of £1.2m.

Mr Honnor joined the business 12 months ago. He received funding for the buy-out from Nat West.

He said: “Having been involved in the business for the last 12 months I am delighted to become the new owner of Hi-Tech Coatings.

“The business has traded successfully for almost 20 years due to the quality of service it provides. My main objective is to continue building a long term relationship with our customers by providing them with a bespoke service that matches their needs.”
