Gleeson starts work on £7m Granby scheme

GLEESON Homes has started work on its £7m Cawdor Park development in the Granby area of Liverpool.

The development consists of 65 new two- and three-bedroom affordable family homes on a cleared site off Ponsonby St which had previously lay derelict for years. The homes are being built under the now-abandoned housing market renewal initiative.

Sarah Marsden, sales director for Gleeson Homes, said: “We are delighted to be part of the on-going regeneration of the Granby area.  There is a clear need for brand new first –time-buyer and family homes in this community, and we look forward to transforming this site into a new development of stylish homes priced to suit local buyers.

The development is Gleeson’s third in this part of Liverpool following the earlier completion of homes at Clevedon Park and Northumberland Square. Prices will start from £89,995.

Councillor Anne O’Byrne, Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for housing, took part in a sod cutting ceremony at the site.

She said: “I’m delighted work on the Cawdor Park scheme is now getting underway. This development is an important part of the overall regeneration of Granby and I’m looking forward to it bringing a major boost to the area.”
