FORMER Bettys & Taylors managing director Sally Holme is to be the new chairman of Bagel Nash.
Manchester-born Mrs Holme will take the role on a non-executive basis after the bakery and retail firm was the subject of a management buy-in by Andy Micklethwaite and Sara Hildredth.
She said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Bagel Nash management team at such an exciting time. It’s a strong brand, with much potential for development in the UK and internationally.”
Mrs Holme, a graduate from Manchester Polytechnic, was managing director at tea, coffee and cake specialists Bettys & Taylors, in Harrogate, for 11 years until 2009. She had previously managed its sales, marketing and communications teams.
Sara Hildreth, retail director at Bagel Nash, said: “We are delighted that Sally has agreed to join the Bagel Nash Board. Her extensive experience and knowledge will help the business achieve its ambitious growth plans.”
The acquisition of Bagel Nash from founders Uri and Karen Mizrahi was completed with the backing of YFM Equity Partners and plans are now in place to expand its chain of coffee and bagel bars in the North, North West and West Midlands.
David Gee, director of investments at YFM Equity Partners, said: “We warmly welcome Sally to the Bagel Nash team. She has a solid track record of developing food and drinks brands and can use this experience to help transform Bagel Nash into the number one bagel business in the UK .”
