Carol Vorderman uses Kuits for her new venture

MANCHESTER law firm Kuits Solicitors has advised TV star Carol Vorderman on her new venture named TheMathsFactor.com .

The team at Kuits led by executive partner Robert Levy and corporate and commercial solicitor James Wall assisted Miss Vorderman with commercial and intellectual property aspects of the new online venture.

They also provided advice relating to licensing of rights and commercial online trading.

The website, which was launched last month – is an online interactive maths school for 4 to 16-year-old children to use at home.

Mr Levy said: “We thought the concept behind TheMathsFactor.com was fantastic and we were delighted to assist Carol in cementing commercial aspects of the venture.

“Carol has dedicated a considerable amount of time to this project and we wish her every success.”

Throughout a successful media career spanning over 25 years, Miss Vorderman has appeared in a number of TV shows.

She began her career on ‘Countdown’ on Channel 4 in 1982 but has also presented on BBC, ITV and Sky 1.

In 2000, she was awarded an MBE for ‘services to broadcasting’.

Over recent years, Carol has developed a number of commercial projects including a range of Sudoku products, and even a Playstation2 game called ‘Carol Vorderman’s Mind Aerobics’.

Miss Vorderman said: “The interactive website will help children master arithmetic and times tables and will offer additional support to parents in encouraging their children’s academic activities.

“My aim is to improve children’s mathematical abilities and to make maths more enjoyable.”
