Mere hotel nears completion

THE owners of the Mere Golf Resort & Spa, have toasted the topping-out of the new £12m luxury hotel development.

The 81-bedroom hotel, is due to open at the resort next in March, is the final piece in a £15m investment at The Mere – the first phase of which was the launch of a health spa.

The topping out last week was attended by Antony Pochin, director of construction firm Pochins, and Mark Boler and Graeme Nesbitt, chief executive and general manager of The Mere respectively.

Tourism chiefs from Visit Cheshire and representatives from Cheshire East Council and Royal Bank of Scotland were also there.

Mark Boler said: “It’s fantastic to finally see the hotel near completion and I just want to thank everyone who has supported us in getting to this stage.
“Our aim is to create the premier resort destination in the North West and I am looking forward to the launch  and opening in March next year.”

The hotel has been designed by Wilmslow consultancy Mather & Co, which also designed the Spa & Health Club at Mere, which was opened in January.
