Playgolf hits the bunker

THE PLAYGOLF driving range leisure facility next to Peel’s Trafford Centre in Manchester has closed its doors.

Playgolf Manchester, which was owned by London-based Wescom Group, appointed Martin Armstrong of Surrey-based Turpin Barker Armstrong as liquidators earlier this month.

The company’s creditors – including customers who had pre-booked lessons at the centre – are urged to get in touch with liqudators to register claims by October 26.

It is the second time in as many years that the company operating the attraction has been placed into administration, with predecessor Playgolf Holdings appointing BDO as administrator in 2009.

Wescom Group also owns a Playgolf centre at Harrow in Middlesex, a training academy and associated businesses which are continuing to trade.
