Salford Business Awards finalists revealed

A FIVE star hotel, machine manufacturer, linen supplier and baby food business are among the finalists for the 2010 Salford Business Awards.

The 23-strong shortlist, across eight categories, includes a diverse range of sectors including IT services, recycling and research and chemicals.

The awards, organised by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and Chapel Street Business Group, were established three years ago to give Salford businesses the recognition they deserve and reflect the city’s strong history of innovation.

TheBusinessDesk is the official media partner for the event, which is  sponsored by TalkTalk, and will be covering the awards night, as well as profiling some of the winning businesses.

Paul Walker, Salford City Council’s strategic director for sustainable regeneration, said: “Every year the standard of entries is even better than the year before which demonstrates the excellence of both Salford firms and entrepreneurs and the outstanding contribution they are making to the future wealth and prosperity of the City of Salford, as well as to our wider city region.”

This year’s ceremony will take place at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on April 15.
