Crowe Clark Whitehill making progress in region

CROWE Clark Whitehill has managed to continue making headway into the North West market despite the tough trading climate.
The firm is a full-service, national accountancy practice which employs around 700 people. It offers audit, tax, risk and compliance, corporate finance and a range of other advisory services. Specialisms include a thriving not-for-profit sector practice advising independent schools, universities, charities, housing associations and other organisations.
The firm was also recently named in the top ten of a league table of auditors of publicly-listed companies in the UK which was ranked by financial information company Hemscott.
In Manchester, Crowe Clark Whitehill has enjoyed positive momentum since its office head, Michael Jayson, joined three years ago.
The office employs 50 people and has made several senior hires over the past 12 months, including the recruitment of the former head of Campbell Woolley, Andrew Campbell and of Martin O’Kane, who was appointed as director in charge of its tax investigations unit.
Moreover, although corporate finance activity across the North West has generally been quiet in recent years, Jayson said that Crowe Clark Whitehill had managed to grow its share of that market and then subsequently retain many of the businesses it advised as permanent clients.
“In many ways, accountancy is like hairdressing in that there are a lot of people who have the skills but there are some with whom you form a bond. People want to work with us and they value our relationships.”
