Driver wins South African hospital deals

CONSTRUCTION consultancy Driver Group has announced two major contract wins by its South African subsidiary.
The firm is to work on two new hospital projects in a joint venture with Deloitte and with BnP Capital.
The projects were awarded by the national and respective provincial departments of health for the King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban and the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha, KwaZulu Natal.
Driver Group said the projects should generate around £1.6m of gross revenue for the joint venture partners over a three-year period.
Driver Group Africa was previously appointed in June 2011 as transaction advisor for the new Dr. George Mukhari academic hospital in Gauteng province, which means it is involved in three of the five healthcare projects that form part of the hospital revitalisation programme announced by the South African president in his 2010 State of the Nation address.
Chairman Alan McClue said: “We are delighted to report further progress in our international business and continue our momentum in winning strategic project management work alongside our traditional dispute resolution, expert witness and project services.”
