Orbit makes money from Cash Store

ORBIT Developments has let 9,000 sq ft of office accommodation at Applicon House in Stockport to Canadian-owned business, The Cash Store.
It is the second significant Stockport deal Orbit has signed in as many weeks after it let 9,720 sq ft at Park Square in Cheadle, to US-owned engineering consultancy, Jacobs Engineering.
The Cash Store is rolling out a chain of short-term money lending stores across the UK and will use the Stockport office for administrative and call centre space.
Applicon House is a six-storey building based on Exchange Street in Stockport. The building now has an occupancy level of over 80% and there is significant interest in the remaining ground floor.
Rhys Owen, leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, said: “Stockport is witnessing exciting growth at the moment. This is a sizeable letting by an international company and will have positive implications for the local economy.”
Councillor Dave Goddard, leader of Stockport Council, said: “It’s great news that Stockport is continuing to attract long-term commitment from international companies.
“Our town centre has great transport connections with good rail and motorway links and is only ten minutes from Manchester Airport. We are ideally-placed to welcome major companies and are delighted that The Cash Store has decided to locate here.”
The Cash store signed a 10-year lease with a quoting rent of £12.95 per sq ft. The Cash Store was represented by Leslie Roberts & Co. While Orbit Developments acted for itself.
