Bird scores with Ronnie O’Sullivan

MANCHESTER PR firm Bird Consultancy is flying high after being appointed by snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan to handle his media relations and commercial activity.

Bird has already struck a new sponsorship deal for the three-times World Champion, with Rileys, the snooker venues company.

Chris Bird, founder and owner of the Bird Consultancy said: “I’ve known Ronnie for some time through our management of the Betfred Premier League and World Championship snooker tournaments.

“We have also worked closely with the new boss of snooker, Barry Hearn, since 1990 and Barry recommended us to Ronnie.”

Mr Bird, who was previously joint managing director of Manchester City FC adds: “Our relationship with Ronnie plays to a number of our skills, not just PR. Sponsorship and talent management are also key to our overall consultancy package.”

Ronnie O’Sullivan said: “The appointment of Chris and his team will help me concentrate purely on my game.

“They have a great track record in sport and business, and Chris has the experience and contacts I can definitely benefit from.”
